Kocho Shinobu

 "And it's Shinobu."-Kanroji said and clapped her hand.

Y/n was excited but when she looked at Shinobu, she decided to hide her emotion. Shinobu walked to the wardrobe slowly and y/n followed her from behind.

They entered the wardrobe together and sat down.

"How's the medicine?"-Shinobu asked.

"It's not bad. Taste good."-Y/n lied.

It was silent between them.

"You're a bad liar y/n."-Shinobu sighed.

"What do you mean?"-y/n asked.

"I've tasted the medicine once and it was bitter."-Shinobu said.

"It may taste awful but it can cure you so endure it."-y/n explained.

Shinobu looked at y/n, confused.

"My father used to say that to me everytime I tried to ditch my mother's bitter medicine. I kinda understand it now."-y/n explained.

"So you mean, you don't really mind the taste?"-Shinobu asked.

"Yup. It's a medicine, not a dessert."-y/n said and smiled.

Shinobu let out a small laugh.

"Did she just laugh?"-y/n thought.

Y/n sighed as she scooted closer to Shinobu.

"Were you worried that the others won't like the taste of your medicines?"-y/n asked.

Shinobu snapped.

"I never said that. People like you are foolish enough to get yourself injured."-Shinobu scoffed and crossed her arms.

"Yeah, that's why people like you exist, Shinobu. So we can enjoy being alive for a little longer."-y/n said.

"What an idiot."-Shinobu said.

Y/n let out a small laugh. Shinobu might be harsh with her words, but she took an extra care for the patients. Even took a late night patrol, worried about those who were injured.

"Yeah, I'm an idiot."-y/n chuckled.

Shinobu punched y/n lightly but accidentally hit her injury.

"Ouch."-y/n groaned.

"Oh shit. You alright? Did the wound reopened? I'm sorry for hitting you there."-Shinobu said, immediately checked y/n's injury.

"It hurt a bit but I'm fine."-y/n said.

Shinobu let out a relief sigh.

"Were you worried about me?"-y/n asked.

"Tch. Don't get so cocky. I just don't want the bandage to get stained with blood. If that happened, I have to reapply it again."-Shinobu said.

"Thank you."-y/n smiled.

"What's that for?"-Shinobu rolled her eyes.

"For taking care of me. For the medicine and treating my wound. I know it's your job and probably do this to every demon slayer but I still wanna thank you for that."-y/n explained.

Shinobu covered her blushing face with her hand.

"Flattery won't get you anything."-Shinobu said.

"I know. I just wanna say my gratitude to my crush."-y/n smiled, unaware that she just confessed her feeling.

Shinobu gasped and whipped her hand towards y/n.

"What did you just say?"-Shinobu asked.

"My gratitude?"-y/n asked.

"No no. After that "-Shinobu said again.

Y/n's reddened as she realized she messed up. She hide her face with her hands.

"Don't hide now. Say it."-Shinobu said.

"That...you're my...you know..."-y/n trembled.-"My crush "

Silent. It was dead silence like Tomioka's 11th form. To the point where y/n thought Shinobu rejected her. She slowly moved her hands and opened her eyes. Shinobu was still in front of her, face currently reddened from embarrassment.

"Are you okay?"-y/n asked.

"I'm not like onee-chan. She's kind to everyone. She's beautiful. I'm...harsh to everyone."-Shinobu said as she went to hug y/n.

"You don't have to be like your sister. You're amazing just the way you are. That's why I like you. You have your own way of helping others."-y/n said and hugged Shinobu back.

"I haven't reply to your confession yet."-Shinobu said.

"It's fine. It's a good thing I managed to let it out. I planned to keep it to myself."-y/n explained.

"You should have tell me about it earlier."-Shinobu said.

"Like... Confess earlier?"-y/n asked, confused.

"Yeah."-Shinobu replied.

"Why?"-y/n asked again.

"Cause I like you too idiot."-Shinobu said, confessing as well.

Y/n felt her face getting warmer when she heard Shinobu's confession.

"Wasn't expecting that?"-Shinobu asked.

"Yeah, I was too happy right now. My crush like me too."-y/n smiled brightly.

They were lost in their own world and didn't realized the time ticking away.

"Oh my. I'm so happy for both of you."-

Both y/n and Shinobu looked at the door, they saw Kanae who was smiling softly at them.

"Time's up."-Kanae said and left.

"L... let's go then."-Shinobu said.

"Yeah sure."-y/n said and held Shinobu's hand.-"Let's go together."

Shinobu nodded and they headed back to the group.

   [I can guess what you guys were thinking... This Shinobu acted a bit differently than the anime and manga. Her sister is still alive. Shinobu didn't become a hashira. So I imagine this is how she acted before her sister's death. I think so.]
